Currently Accepting New Patients
Due to changes in the dental industry and the repercussions of the pandemic, our process of registering NHS patients has changed.
When a patient enquires about registering as an NHS patient, they will initially visit our practice for a consultation to assess if they require any dental work. All patients in Scotland are accepted onto the treating dentist’s list at the dentist’s discretion. Due to changes in NHS funding, we need to ensure patients are dentally fit before NHS registration can be provided. If a patient does require extensive work, this work will need to be carried out privately.
The main difference between NHS and private treatment is that NHS treatment is designed to provide clinically necessary treatment to maintain function. Therefore, some dental work may not be covered by the NHS that we can provide on a private basis. Each treatment plan is individual, and it is best to discuss the available NHS and private options with your dentist.
We always aim to provide 5-star dental treatment to all our patients, and we continue to provide NHS and private dentistry in our local community.
Who is entitled to FREE NHS dental care in Scotland?
- Patients who are under 18 years old
- Patients aged 18 and in full-time education
- Patients who are pregnant
